Check out these updates from the cities of San Bernardino and Culver City. Plus, news from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA).

  • The City of San Bernardino had several new cannabis laws go into effect on April 8, 2018. In addition, the city will begin accepting commercial cannabis applications from April 23 to May 23, 2018.
    • The application states that the city will award cultivation, distribution, manufacturer, microbusiness, retailer and testing lab licenses. Seventeen licenses are up for grabs.
    • If all 17 licenses are not issued during the first round, there are discussions to open up a second round of applications. Find the commercial cannabis application here and the procedure guidelines here.
  • Culver City cannabis applications are due Wednesday, May 9. Last week, Culver City released answers to FAQ that may help guide you through the application process. With only a few weeks left, make sure you submit your application ASAP!
  • If you hold a current cannabis cultivation license, the Compliance and Enforcement branch of CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing (a division of the California Department of Food and Agriculture) is now conducting inspections throughout California. The CDFA should notify you through an email or phone call to schedule an inspection. Please contact California Cannabis CPA if you need assistance preparing for the inspection and making sure your documentation is in order.

Don’t forget, Cannabis tax returns and payment for January 1, 2018, through March 31, 2018 are due April 30, 2018!

Please contact California Cannabis CPA for any assistance with the licensing process.
