Welcome to our weekly roundup of deadlines and permit updates from around the state. If you are applying or thinking about applying for a cannabis license in Avalon, Sebastopol, Paso Robles, Santa Ana and Carson City, we have some updates for you today.

  • Avalon, California will open up applications for medical cannabis delivery services beginning Monday, March 12, 2018.  Applications are due no later than April 16, 2018. Click to download the medical cannabis delivery service business application.
  • Sabastopol, California: the city council will move to adopt an update to the city’s cannabis ordinance. Currently the city allows for medical cannabis dispensaries and collectives, as well as personal growing for medical cannabis patients and caregivers. The proposed ordinance would allow for both medical and adult-use cannabis-related businesses. It would also allow sales at two existing medical cannabis dispensaries if they are granted the required state licenses. The council adopted the ordinance and now it’s a waiting game to see how many and when applications will be released.
  • Paso Robles, California will consider adopting an ordinance immediately that would give Temporary Use Permits (for up to one year) allowing for non-storefront retailers in the city.  A reading is expected to happen on this at city council this month.
  • Santa Ana, California just closed their Phase 1 window and are expected to be notified of the review outcome in early April. Eligible applicants will be invited to apply for Phase 2, the Regulatory Safety Permit. New registration applications for medicinal cannabis will begin accepting applications April 1 through April 30 to be placed on a waitlist. We’ll have updates on from Santa Ana and the Phase 2 process tomorrow.
  • The City of Carson, California will require all applications for commercial cannabis centers to be submitted by April 19, 2018. Click through for the full City of Carson application.  Later this week, we’ll post everything you need to know about the detailed application process so you can get a head start on the application.

We make it our business to provide you with consistent city updates that are in the process, or have released, new cannabis license applications. Should you have questions about licensing in any of the above cities please contact California Cannabis CPAs today.
